Tru Beauty by Trevor ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the Tru Skin Analysis app.
Information We Collect
We collect the following information:
- Account information: your name, email address, and age range when you create an account
- Face photos: images of your face captured during a skin analysis session, transmitted to OpenAI's GPT-4o Vision API for real-time AI cosmetic skin analysis — see the "Face Data Collection and Use" section below for full details
- Scan history: your analysis results (skin conditions, tier, recommendations) saved to your account so you can track your skin over time
- Usage data: general app usage information to improve the experience

Face Data Collection and Use
What face data we collect. When you tap "Begin Your Scan," the app uses your device's front camera to capture up to three standard photographs of your face (front, left side, and right side). These are ordinary 2D camera images — the same kind of image any camera app produces. No biometric identifiers, no facial geometry, and no face-recognition data of any kind is generated, derived, or stored.
How we use the face photographs. The photographs are used for one purpose only: to generate a personalized cosmetic skin analysis report (assessing visible skin attributes such as hydration, pore visibility, texture, and brightness). The photographs are transmitted over an encrypted HTTPS connection to OpenAI's GPT-4o Vision API, which returns a text analysis describing the visible cosmetic condition of the skin. The photographs are not used for advertising, analytics, profiling, training of any AI model, or any purpose other than producing your skin analysis result.
Third-party sharing and storage. The face photographs are shared with one third party only — OpenAI — solely for the real-time AI analysis described above. Per OpenAI's API data usage policy, data submitted through the OpenAI API is not used to train OpenAI's models and is retained by OpenAI for a maximum of 30 days for abuse monitoring purposes, after which it is deleted. Tru Beauty by Trevor does not store the face photographs on our own servers, in Firebase, or anywhere else; only the resulting analysis text and scores are saved to your account in Firebase Firestore so you can view your skin journey over time. The face photographs are not shared with any other third party, advertiser, analytics provider, data broker, or affiliate.
Retention. Tru Beauty by Trevor retains face photographs for zero days — they exist only in transit to OpenAI during the scan and are immediately discarded once the analysis result is returned. OpenAI retains submitted images for at most 30 days under its API policy, after which they are permanently deleted by OpenAI. The textual analysis results (not the photographs) are retained in your account until you delete an individual scan or your entire account, which you can do at any time using the in-app Delete Account button — this permanently removes all scan history and account data from our systems.

Data Storage
Your account profile and scan history are stored securely via Google Firebase (Firestore). Firebase uses industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. For more information, see Firebase's Privacy Policy.
Third-Party Services
- OpenAI — processes face photos for AI skin analysis. See OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
- Google Firebase — authentication and secure data storage.
- Apple Sign In — optional sign-in method. Apple may provide a private relay email address.
- Google Sign In — optional sign-in method.
- Alastin, SkinBetter Science, SkinMedica — affiliated skincare brands linked for product purchase. These brands have their own privacy policies.
Your Rights & Account Deletion
You may delete your account and all associated data at any time directly within the app by tapping Delete Account on the home screen. This permanently removes your profile and all scan history from our systems.

Email Marketing
By creating an account and consenting, you agree to receive personalized skincare tips and recommendations via email based on your skin profile. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.
Children's Privacy
This app is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a minor has created an account, we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Not a Medical Device
Use of the App
You may use Tru Skin Analysis for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to misuse the app, attempt to reverse-engineer it, or use it for any unlawful purpose.
Camera & Photo Consent
By using the scan feature, you consent to capturing photos of your face for AI-based skin analysis. These images are transmitted securely to OpenAI for real-time processing and are not permanently stored by Tru Beauty by Trevor after your results are generated.
Age Requirement
You must be 18 years of age or older to create an account and use this app. By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old.
Account & Data Deletion
You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app. Upon deletion, your profile and scan history are permanently removed from our systems.
Product Recommendations & Affiliate Disclosure
Product recommendations are AI-generated based on your scan results and are not a substitute for a professional consultation with a licensed provider. Tru Beauty by Trevor may earn affiliate commissions on purchases made through links in the app.
Email Marketing Consent
By creating an account, you consent to receive personalized skincare tips and suggestions based on your skin profile from Tru Beauty by Trevor via email. You may unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email we send.
Account Responsibility
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at info@trubeautybytrevor.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tru Beauty by Trevor is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this app or reliance on AI-generated skin analysis results.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, without regard to conflict of law principles.
